When words cease, when guns fall silent
When storm has passed and the last drop of rain slips off the tip of the leaf
When the earth rests warm, moist, and ready to receive.
When the electricity goes out, when the door closes on the last guest to leave
When the pain medicine finally clicks in and the body can truly relax
But most of all when a hush suddenly falls on a great crowd
Each is alone with one's soul, and sometimes God enters in.
