"All We have are Gifts from God"by Tracy and Terry Moore |

When we were asked
why we give to FAW each month, Terry and I reflected on what FAW has meant to
us. I recalled leaving my first retreat with Faith at Work in 1991 feeling
refreshed and excited and armed with two books by Marjory Bankson. Six months
later in the midst of serious medical issues in our family, I received a
postcard from FAW’s prayer team saying they were praying for me. The postcard
was truly a Godsend and led me to contact the FAW office to join the prayer
team. A number of years later in May of 2000, Terry and I drove from Michigan to
Baltimore for the Convocation. We wanted to meet people connected with FAW, and
the connections have remained steadfast ever since.
As Christmas 2003 approached, Terry and I decided to send a year-end financial gift to FAW as a thank you and to support their ongoing ministry. After attending the first couple’s retreat in Maryland, we were discussing and praying about the organizations we, as a couple, were called to support on a regular basis and realized FAW was one of them. FAW has helped us to live out our call to stewardship which in the fullest sense of the word means to love God by loving your neighbor, yourself, and all of God’s creation. Terry and I strive to honor this understanding of stewardship by remembering that all we have are gifts from God. Though we do not have a lot of money to offer, we hope our monthly gift, combined with those of others, will contribute to the on going work and ministry of FAW.
