Painting Our Prayers

On a daily basis we try to make sense of the push and pull of life, and all the while, we pray.

Join with other women for a weekend of serene meditation and spiritual refreshment as we explore our own personal, intimate connection with God through the creative process and the natural beauty around us.  The gospel story of Mary and Martha forms a contemplative framework within which we shall explore the practice and personalization of prayer.

We will be communing and creating together in the quiet beauty of Am Kolel Sanctuary Retreat Center, a former turn-of-the-century family farm which features 28 acres of rolling hillsides and woodland, hiking trails, fruit orchards, herb beds, vegetable gardens, and an outdoor labyrinth.

We welcome you to come for nourishment of your soul's journey with song, scripture, rest, connection, and, of course, prayer.

Facilitated by Tiffany Montavon, Hope Hodges, Jessica Harmon, and Linnea Nilsen Capshaw.

Does God Work Where You Work?

In many ways, it may be a redefining time for our nation….a time when a new baseline is being set. The work that you do--whether you are employed, retired, or uncertain of your work in this economy--having a deeper connection with God at your work can make a significant difference. During this extraordinary time for our country, join us for a day of wondering and exploring what that means to each of us.

We will share strategies to develop a spiritual life that goes to work when you do. Topics include:
Creating workplace disciplines that are soulful
Bringing spiritual wisdom into your decision making
Getting the support you need to stay with it
Sharing your unique challenges with others and gaining new perspectives

God is at work. You are at work. Let’s make the connections!

Doug Wysockey-Johnson

Called Together as Couples

Life is busy and uncertain these days, offering most of us too little time to intentionally reflect on our closest relationships.  Give yourself and the love of your life a chance to celebrate one another and to reflect on your journey together.  Come away together for rest, reconnection and rejuvenation.  You will reward yourselves with the opportunity to think, pray, and imagine creatively about who you are - together.

Facilitated by Dave Thorpe and Amy Erickson, Kris Herbst and Tiffany Montavon.

Sabbath -- for the REST of Your Life

In small groups and larger gatherings, in prayerful solitude and in playful reflection we will explore and experience the biblical commandment of Sabbath rest.

Our team-led retreat features scriptures from Genesis 1:31—2:3, Deuteronomy 5:12-15, and Luke 13:10-17. We’ll have time for silence and journaling, small group sharing, music, prayer and free time. Living Water Spiritual center offers private rooms, delicious, healthy, and nutritious meals and snacks, and a labyrinth and trails to walk by the river.

Some of the questions we will be considering include:

* What nourishes my soul?
* Where do I find delight in my life?
* What offers Sabbath rest to me?
* What helps me to observe Sabbath, to stop and pay attention?
* What helps me remember my identity as a holy child of God?
* What can I do to strengthen a Sabbath rhythm for myself?

Facilitated by Sally Calhoun, Lil Fidler, & Marty Resotko.
