This is a difficult letter to write because for many of you it will be your notification of the death of our beloved Elizabeth O'Connor. After a valiant and courageous struggle with cancer, she died on October 17. She was an integral part of this community from the day she arrived. In the years that have followed, her creativity and convincing insights have had much to do with shaping our community life. In our memories of her and in our ongoing love for her, she will continue to have a significant role in determining who we are.
Elizabeth was our storyteller. Not only did she reach out to the world with a message, but her writings also provided a lens through which we could see ourselves. We can't even begin to know how many lives she touched but we can look at her life and see that one deeply committed person can have immeasurable meaning.
Even as we are saddened by her death, we can report the good news that her long awaited Journey Inward, Journey Outward is being reprinted and will be available soon. This has been made possible by several donors who felt strongly that this wonderful book should be back in print. We are immensely grateful for them and the difference that they are making in providing this book for so many.
There are others of you who are helping with our book ministry that we want to thank as well. A wonderful friend has enabled us to reprint The Handbook for Churches and Mission Groups. Another dear friend is making it possible for us to establish a web site so that our unique collection will be available everywhere to those who can benefit from it. And, always, we are grateful to each ofyou, our loyal customers, who choose to order from us in support of our ministry. You make it possible for us to reach out in ways that we couldn't otherwise. We are very grateful that we are partners in ministry with each of you.
